We have a great affinity for Chinese takeout in my household. We have it multiple times a week, but that has a very hefty price tag. In an effort to reduce our spending and keep coins in our pockets, I quickly figured out how to make some of our favorites. I often make this and my quick and easy beef and broccoli This recipe is so delish and easy to make I made it twice last week!!
HOW DO YOU MAKE GENERAL TSO’S CHICKEN?
First, cube the chicken then battered and deep fried until golden brown. Next, toss the chicken pieces in a sweet and spicy sauce. The final step is to add a sprinkle of sesame seeds and green onions, then serve and enjoy. A common veggie option is broccoli for this dish to create a well balanced meal.
TIPS FOR THIS CHICKEN RECIPE
- Be careful not to fry too many pieces of chicken at the same time to avoid the pieces sticking or clumping together.
- To increase the spiciness if your chicken, feel free to add more red chili sauce.
- Served immediately, as the coating will absorb the sauce and get softer as it sits.
- You can use chicken thighs instead they are the more traditional choice.
