Best Weeknight Rice Dressing

Best Weeknight Rice Dressing -The perfect side dish for week night meal time, it's delish and easy and family pleasing!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound creole sausage or spicy Italian sausage
  • 3 cups rice cooked
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 2-3 stalks celery finely chopped
  • 1/2 green bell pepper finely chopped
  • 1/2 red bell pepper finely chopped
  • 1 TBS flour optional
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 TBS minced garlic
  • 1 TBS cajun seasoning
  • 1 TBS garlic powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • few dashes of Worcestershire sauce
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1-2 stalks green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Heat a large pot or pan over medium heat
  • remove sausage from casing add it to the pot and brown
  • Then add in celery, bell pepper, onion stir and let vegetables cook down for 5 minutes.
  • add the garlic and cook until fragrant
  • add flour and stir well after 5 minutes, add 1/2 can of cream of mushroom soup stir again.
  • add broth, spices except for salt and pepper, and Worcestershire stir well
  • Cover and let boil for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Taste if it needs add more salt and/or pepper.
  • Add in the cooked rice. Stir evenly and cover.
  • Simmer on low for 10-15 minutes. Do not stir it while it simmers,
  • but make sure that it doesn't run out of water and burn.
  • garnish with chopped green onions
  • serve and enjoy!
