Best Weeknight Rice Dressing
Best Weeknight Rice Dressing -The perfect side dish for week night meal time, it's delish and easy and family pleasing!
Servings 4
Ingredients
- 1 pound creole sausage or spicy Italian sausage
- 3 cups rice cooked
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 2-3 stalks celery finely chopped
- 1/2 green bell pepper finely chopped
- 1/2 red bell pepper finely chopped
- 1 TBS flour optional
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 TBS minced garlic
- 1 TBS cajun seasoning
- 1 TBS garlic powder
- 1 tsp oregano
- few dashes of Worcestershire sauce
- salt & pepper to taste
- 1-2 stalks green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat a large pot or pan over medium heat
- remove sausage from casing add it to the pot and brown
- Then add in celery, bell pepper, onion stir and let vegetables cook down for 5 minutes.
- add the garlic and cook until fragrant
- add flour and stir well after 5 minutes, add 1/2 can of cream of mushroom soup stir again.
- add broth, spices except for salt and pepper, and Worcestershire stir well
- Cover and let boil for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Taste if it needs add more salt and/or pepper.
- Add in the cooked rice. Stir evenly and cover.
- Simmer on low for 10-15 minutes. Do not stir it while it simmers,
- but make sure that it doesn’t run out of water and burn.
- garnish with chopped green onions
- serve and enjoy!
