Quick and Easy Homemade Hamburger Buns
These hamburger buns are delicious and can make your next cookout or burger night a total hit! Now I have to admit I was suspicious that a recipe with no rise time could be good, but I was in a pinch and needed burger buns fast. In less than an hour, you can have soft and fluffy hamburger buns without going to the store. That just seemed unreal, but trust they are easy and delicious without any fuss.

In order to make the most beautiful burger buns, you must use an egg wash for a nice shiny and golden top, sprinkled with sesame seeds. To make an egg wash, simply mix one egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of water. Brush the mixture over the tops of the burger buns, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Customize these buns
These hamburger buns are super customizable. Adding sesame or poppy seeds, brush warm buns with butter and add your favorite toppings. These buns are also perfect for slider buns or rolls. To make slider rolls, divide dough into 24 pieces, and bake until golden brown.
How to Make Homemade Hamburger Buns:
Quick and Easy Hamburger Buns
Ingredients
- 3-3 1/2 cups flour
- 2 TBSP active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup warm water or milk
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
- Add oil and sugar; let stand for 5 minutes.
- Add the egg, salt and enough flour to form a soft dough.
- Turn onto a floured surface; knead for 5 minutes.
- Do not let rise.
- Divide into 8-10 pieces; shape each into a ball. Place 3 in. apart on greased or parchment lined baking sheet.
- Preheat oven to 425
- While oven is heating cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Bake until golden brown, about 8-12 minutes.
- Remove from pans to wire racks and cool.
