Turtle Chocolate Chip Cookies is one of my family’s most beloved cookie recipes! Perfectly soft and chewy and oh so tasty with hints of buttery caramel.
These turtle chocolate chip cookies are a family favorite and highly requested by anyone who has ever tried them! That was my warning bake and distribute these cautiously. I mean it once they get a taste they can’t get enough.
They are soft, chewy and loaded with chocolate chips, pecans and caramel bits. And pair so perfectly warm out of the oven with a big glass of ice-cold milk.
Recipe Tips for Turtle Chocolate Chip Cookies
Choose the right chocolate chip. To make these turtle cookies, be sure to use semi-sweet or even dark chocolate chips. Milk chocolate chips make the cookies way too sweet.
Substitute the nuts. Feel free to substitute with chopped walnuts or almonds if you are not a pecan fan, or leave them out altogether if you don’t like nuts or have a food sensitivity or allergy.
Try diced apples. If nuts aren’t your jush, substitute with diced dried apples. This makes the turtle cookies taste more like awesome caramel apple cookies!
